Source: CNN Video: Physical intelligence at work with Gecko Robotics Across ADNOC, robotics and AI are moving intelligence out of the control room and into the physical world. Gecko Robotics is helping us apply that physical intelligence to the inspection of critical infrastructure. Its climbing robots move across tanks, pipes and ship hulls, measuring steel thickness while reducing the need for people to enter hazardous inspection environments. ADNOC Gas became Geckos first UAE client in 2023. By combining robotic inspection with Cantilever, Geckos AI-powered software platform, engineers at ADNOC Gas can turn inspection data into detailed 3D maps that reveal where metal is deteriorating. This allows maintenance teams to intervene earlier, helping to improve safety, increase asset reliability and prevent unplanned shutdowns. The technology is expected to deliver more than $300 million in inspection and maintenance savings over five years. The partnership is also building capability in the UAE, with Gecko working alongside ADNOC Technical Academy to develop training programs for UAE Nationals. In this clip, CNNs Kim Kelaita speaks with Gecko CEO Jake Loosararian about how the partnership is turning robotics into real-world operational value. She then puts the technology to the test, guiding one of Geckos climbing robots with a controller that will look familiar to anyone who plays video games.
